Change Management


Change is constant, inevitable, and coming at an accelerating rate of speed particularly in organizations that are seeking innovation and moving from good to great performance. From a leadership perspective, one of the greatest challenges is to successfully lead organizational change as well as manage the organizational transition. Too often, leaders focus on planning for the change itself (the shift in the external environment), without giving much thought to transitions (the psychological reorientation that people experience in response to the change). As a result, the biggest challenge in working through change is people’s behavior……often experienced as resistance to change.

Himelfarb Consulting is committed to helping organizational leaders take a comprehensive approach to change efforts. Our two-pronged focus:

1. Planning and Leading Change

  • Focus is on the critical components of planning and leading a major change effort, and the steps that can be followed to successfully realize the desired outcomes. This includes creating a vision and “elevator speech” for the change effort.
  • Knowing how to form and develop a powerful project team (the steps, tools and methodology)
  • Building a robust communication plan based on a thorough stakeholder analysis

2. Managing Transitions or The Human Side of Change

  • The importance of understanding “Self “ as a leader in managing change and transition efforts
  • Understanding the transition process and how to cope through it effectively.
  • Understanding the role of a leader/manager in helping others move through the transition process.
